5 Tips to Rekindle Passion in Your Marriage

Marriage is a beautiful thing, and it can bring you tremendous joy, as well as many challenges, too. If you’re in the midst of one of those challenges right now—perhaps you’ve fallen out of love with your partner, or maybe your relationship just lacks the zest it once had—you’re probably feeling stressed and frustrated with your situation. However, you’re not alone; there are plenty of other couples out there who have gone through what you’re going through, and if they could find ways to rekindle the passion in their marriage, so can you!

1) Set date night

When was your last date night? It can be easy for passion levels in a relationship to wane over time. One way to revive that spark is by making a commitment: schedule dates with your partner (even if you’re just going out for ice cream). The anticipation of seeing each other—and spending time together—can kick-start intimacy and help reignite flames that have grown dim. And don’t forget about sex! If you want to rekindle that fire, try scheduling sex into your weekly routine.

You might find it easier than ever before to make love more often, which will help keep both of you happy and healthy. Remember, passion doesn’t always mean wild sexual encounters; cuddling on the couch can also bring you closer as a couple.

2) Exercise together

One of the easiest and most effective ways to enhance your physical connection with your partner is through exercise. Exercising together has a number of benefits, not only for your bodies but also for your minds. It provides an opportunity for you and your partner to spend time together. You can have fun while improving self-confidence, as well as each other’s. Plus, exercising together increases intimacy between partners.

For instance, research shows that women who exercised regularly were more likely to report feeling positive about their body image than those who didn’t work out. Men who worked out with their partner reported being more satisfied with their relationship compared to men who didn’t work out. Even if you don’t feel like working out today, give it a try! Studies show that people are more likely to stick to an exercise program when they know someone else will be counting on them.

3) Try new things

There’s a reason couples tend to stay stuck in habits, and if you’re doing things you already know how to do, that can be it. Spice up your life by trying new things together—from classes to activities and hobbies. Not only will you be forced out of your comfort zone, but these fun moments will also build great memories for both of you! Plus, if you discover something new you love together, there’s no better way to rekindle passion than making time for what makes each of you happy.

4) Have sex outside the bedroom

Having sex outside of your bedroom creates an air of mystery. Plus, it’s fun to have sex in new places. The more you do it, the more comfortable you get and that could create a domino effect that leads back to better performance between the sheets. You might also be surprised by how much foreplay is involved—that is, if you really want to make things hot. Don’t just dive right into bed; take some time to build up anticipation for when you finally do get there.

Try going out on a date or doing something special together first before heading home for some action. If you can’t wait until then, try texting each other throughout the day with suggestive pictures or text messages. It will help you both feel more passionate about one another even when you aren’t around each other.

5) Romance doesn’t have to be expensive

Forget flowers and overpriced dinners—there are plenty of ways to spice up your relationship without spending a dime. Find out how here!

It doesn’t take much effort to keep things spicy between you and your spouse.
